Obituary of Joseph Berdin

Joseph Berdin of Loveland, CO passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 25, 2022 at the age of 72 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

Joseph was born to Samuel and Josephine Berdin on February 4, 1950 in Youngstown, Ohio. He moved to Loveland, CO in 1966 to live with his sister Rose and graduated from Loveland High School in 1969. He then went to the police academy in Trinidad.  He married his first wife Coletta in 1974 and they had a beautiful daughter Joletta.  They divorced a few years later. His first job was with the Berthoud P.D.. He then joined the Loveland P.D. in 1976 and retired after 30 + years of service in 2011. After he retired he took care of his wife Nancy until she passed away in 2012. At the residence where he lived he enjoyed playing pickle ball, cards, Wii bowling and much more. There he met his girlfriend Cyndi Hatch. They loved to go watch the Colorado Eagles play hockey. He also looked forward to his trips to Vegas with his buddies. His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren, this included their many trips to Disney World and Disneyland.

 

Joseph is survived by his daughter, Joletta and grandchildren, Tatum, Cody and Paris. He is also survived by his sisters, Rose (Bob) Martin, Phyllis Hartman and brothers, Mike (Margaret) Berdin, Sam (Dorothy) Berdin, along with 11 nieces and nephews and many wonderful family and friends.

 

Joseph is proceeded in death by his parents Samuel and Josephine, his wife Nancy and his brother Richard.

 

Memorial Services and Celebration of Life Reception will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 11:00am at Foundations Church, 1380 N. Denver Ave, Loveland, CO 80537. Following the reception there will be a burial service at 1:30 at Resthaven Memory Gardens, 8426 S. Hwy 287, Ft. Collins, CO 80525.

Joseph was a wonderful father and grandfather. He was loved by many and liked by all. He will be missed like crazy .
