Obituary of Buster B. Boatman Jr.

Buster Boatman died peacefully at age 82 at McKee Medical Center, Loveland CO, from recently diagnosed metastasized lung cancer. He was the oldest of four children born to Buster and Elsie Over Boatman in Stillwater OK.

 

While stationed at Lowry Air Base, Denver CO he met and then married the love of his life, Sandra Madden. They moved around a bit in the early years of marriage and finally settled in Loveland CO after his early retirement. They deemed this to be the best move they ever made. Their two children, Amy and Michael, later decided to settle in Loveland too.

 

Buster served his country well, retiring from federal service after 30 years. He started this path measuring cotton in AZ for UDSDA as a summer job. Next serving in the USAF from 1962-1966. After graduation from Oklahoma State University (OSU) he started a career with the federal government working in Human Resources for several agencies. He retired from Western Area Power Administration (WAPA).

 

Buster, N0CKC is now a silent key. He was proceeded in death by his parents and brother. He is survived by his wife, both children, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and his 2 sisters.

 

The family wishes to thank the the McKee teams that took such wonderful care of him in his last 3 weeks.

 

Services will be at 1pm, February 19, 2024, All Saints Episcopal Church, 3448 N. Taft Ave, Loveland CO. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions in his name. Our suggestions include: American Cancer Society, Banner Hospice, and All Saints Episcopal Church, Loveland CO.
