Obituary of Jeanette Vera Mehle

Jeanette V. Mehle 96, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2023, at Mirasol Green Homes in Loveland Colorado with her daughters by her side.

 

A lifetime Colorado resident Jeanette was born on January 11, 1927, in Leadville, Colorado to David & Anne Parlin.  Growing up in the very small mining town of Leadville with her siblings during the depression, prohibition, and World War II.

 

After graduating from Leadville High School, she worked as a legal secretary for attorney A.J. Laing for several years.  She married Walter Mehle on Jan. 13, 1952; and was happily married until Walt’s passing in 2004. To this union three daughters were born – Sandra Sue, Janet Ann, and Judy Kaye.  Jeanette temporarily left the workplace in the late 1950’s and 60’s to raise their daughters.  When rejoining the workforce, she worked at the Lake County Clerk and Recorders office until retirement.  Once in retirement Walt and Jeanette enjoyed many trips to Black Hawk, Las Vegas, and Mexico.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter Mehle, daughter Sandra Sue who died in infancy; brothers Earl Parlin, David Leslie Parlin, Fred Parlin, Arthur Parlin, Alfred Parlin; sisters Arelia Parlin, Eleanor Newcomb, Maxine Lofquist.

 

She is survived by daughters Janet (Dennis) Oltmann, Westminster; and Judy Mehle, Loveland.  Plus, by many nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews, including beloved Jeannine & Donnie Gotfrey.  Also, special friends that are like family, Vince & Sandy Marcella.

 

The family would like to extend deep gratitude to the caregivers of Homestead House at Mirasol Green Homes in Loveland for the couple years of exceptional and loving care.
