Obituary of Larry C. Leathers
Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother passed away peacefully in the company of loved ones April 8th in Canton, Ohio
Larry was born December 11th , 1943 to Raymond Leathers and Ruth Calkins.
Born & raised in Loveland, CO alongside his older siblings Maurice and Rilla Mae, Larry attended Loveland High School and joined the United States Navy in January 1962. He was stationed in San Diego and spent time in South East Asia serving in the Vietnam war.
Larry was kind, caring, and gentle, and would do anything for those he cared about. If there was a project to tackle or a person in need, he’d offer a helping hand without a second thought. Family was of utmost importance to Larry. He loved watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they grew and enjoyed cracking jokes with them every chance he got.
Larry’s favorite pastime was woodworking. He’d spend hours in his garage working on one masterpiece or another. His family members often received his beautiful wood-burned artwork as gifts for special occasions.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Rilla Mae and wife Sandra, and survived by five children, ten grandchildren & eleven great- grandchildren
Larry will be greatly missed by the plethora of family, friends and neighbors who loved him dearly.
