Lila Toso

Obituary of Lila Rita Toso

Lila Toso of Windsor, CO passed away peacefully on May 1st with her family by her side. Lila was born November 3, 1941 to Lewis and Esther Souther in Columbus, ND. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1959, later graduating from Christie Beauty School in Bismark, ND. She worked at the Gilmore House of Beauty in Minot, North Dakota. She met her future husband Larry Toso during that time.  They were married on April 9, 1961.

Lila worked in the beauty industry for many years. Larry and Lila moved to Devils Lake, ND in 1980 and she started work as a bank teller, which turned out to be her favorite job.

Larry and Lila traveled extensively around the world with Larry’s job. Her favorite vacation spot was Hawaii, and they were lucky enough to visit there four times.

Larry and Lila made the move to Parker, Colorado in 1987, when Larry was transferred. They enjoyed Colorado very much. After retirement, they moved to their final home in Windsor Colorado to be closer to family.

Lila was always up for a game of cards with family and friends, Canasta being her go-to game. She was a ruthless player and usually was the champion! Lila loved to bowl, being on a league for many years. She was very proud of her almost perfect game! She always had a good mystery book by her bedside. She never met a slot machine she didn’t like, often taking a quick trip to the mountain casinos with family and friends. She doted on her dog Sparky, her constant companion.

She is survived by her three children - Cindy Toso of Windsor, CO, Lynn Toso (Debbie) of Penn, ND, and Todd Toso (Gretchen) of Loveland, CO; grandchildren, Kaylee Toso (Jesse Ahoe), Tanner, Garrett, and Taleah Toso; and sister Goldie Fjeld of Minot, ND and numerous nieces and nephews.
