Obituary of Jim Brian Parks

Jim Brian Parks passed away after surgery, removing the colon cancer on February 27, 2023 at the Northern Colorado Medical Center in Greeley Colorado with his wife and oldest son by his side. He was born June 3, 1965 and adopted by Jim Hoyt Parks and Eilene Christ-Parks in Portland, Oregon.

He was raised in Longmont, Colorado and after high school he joined the army for two years. Went on to Regis University to complete his bachelor’s degree. In his 30’s he found his biological mother, Judy Shipley and his biological father, James Steele. Along with finding his parents he gained three brothers, one sister and three step-sisters, all of which are within an hour driving distance of his adopted parents in Oregon. Jim was a member of the Loveland Church of Christ Congregation where he met his wife Amanda Nicole Pinto at the age of 44. They fell in love and later married on July 9, 2011, gaining two sons; Gabriel Evald Parks now 17 years-old and Caleb Anthony Parks now 15 years old. Jim and Amanda completed their family with a third son, Nicolas Brian Parks on July 1, 2013 now 9 years old.

He loved the Lord and studied the Bible thoroughly as well as playing the guitar in the worship band every Sunday morning. He was a very intelligent, gentle and caring man that enjoyed putting a smile on people’s faces with his one-of-a-kind sense of humor. He was a family man, enjoyed outings & functions, playing board games, gardening, fishing, making music with his guitar, hosting events for family and friends. His favorite time of year was Christmas and his birthday. He had many collections, including his favorite football team, Denver Broncos, Egyptian sculptures, coins, guns, and lastly guitars.

Jim worked as an administrative assistant, for McKee Medical Center for many years, lastly working in administration for the veteran affairs in Loveland Colorado.

He is survived by his wife Amanda, his sons Gabriel, Caleb, and Nicolas and many extended family and friends. He was greatly loved and will be missed every moment by all who loved him.

He was remembered and honored the evening of March 16, 2023 at the Viegut Funeral Home by his closest people. There will be a Graveside Ceremony at the Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO on Wednesday March 22, 2023 at 11:30 AM.
