William Woods

Obituary of William Winford Woods

Bill Woods, leader and missionary, was promoted to a place at Jesus’ side on February 23rd in Johnstown, Colorado.  He was at home and surrounded by family as he was sung into eternity.  Bill is survived by his wife, Donna Woods, and four children, 10 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.  Many people across the world consider him a father figure as well.

Anyone who knows Bill, knows that he followed the Lord with his whole heart.  He didn’t pass up the opportunity to share with people how they could know God personally and be sure they would spend eternity with Him.  Bill was a man of adventure.  When he was 10 years old, he received a calling from the Lord to go to Africa as a missionary.  He and Donna took their four children (and the family dog) to serve the Lord in Africa in 1979.

Though the last years of Bill’s life were shaped by health problems, he didn’t let that get in his way.  In his own words, “If you’re not dead, you are not done!”

His family has organized a service of celebration of Bill’s life at Foundations Church (Hwy 34 & Denver Ave, Loveland, CO) on April 15th, at 10 am.  The service will also be streamed online.  It can be accessed by going to www.foundationschurch.org and clicking on the link where they have live messages.
