Obituary of Shawn House

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Robert Shawn House on February 23, 2023. Everyone knew him as Shawn.

He was born in Loveland, Co, August 23, 1957. He was the son of Bobby and Joan House, of Loveland, father of Shawna Marie House, of Greeley and Bobby Joseph House, of Longmont. He had two sisters Susan Rounds and Sandra Hunter, both of Loveland, numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins, all who loved and appreciated him. He was a phenomenal uncle to his nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, Marry Annetta and wife Debby House.  

Shawn spent his childhood in Loveland. He played football, basketball and baseball in his youth. A project with his dad was building and racing a soap box derby, which he was so proud of. His family moved west of Loveland and he spent many hours climbing over the Devil’s Backbone. Shawn graduated from Loveland High School in 1975 and served in the Army from 1978 to 1981. He was stationed in Panama and Nicaragua. He received the badge with M-16 rifle bar; expert badge with hand grenade bar; an army service ribbon and Overseas ribbon. Shawn continued in the Army Reserve until 1986. In 1989 he married Gina Frankovich and they raised their family in the Loveland area for many years. He later married Debbie Hagood and they lived east of Loveland. Debbie passed away in April 2022 and he lived with a heavy heart after that. He then moved in with Sue and helped around her house as he was trying to figure out life without Debbie. He was fighting an illness and an infection that seemed to take the best of him. He worked in construction field doing roofing and cement work for many years. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson in the mountains. He loved to fish and started painting pictures as his hobbies.

He has a tough exterior but a loving and tender heart. He accepted everyone for who they were and never passed a judgement on anyone. His family was very important to him and he always wanted to “cover their back” as his nephew’s would say. Family and friends will remember and miss him deeply.
