Obituary of Susan Jean Brinkman

Susan J Brinkman, age 64 of Greeley Colorado, passed away in her home on Friday, February 10th, 2023. Susan was born on May 7th, 1958 to Cleatus Seaman and Mary Bourne.

Sue is survived by her husband, Mark Brinkman; children, Justin Crane (Breanna), Amanda Crane (Elliott), Emily Schwellenbach; Grandchildren Isabella, Ian, and Izaac Guerrero, Shannon and Ethan Ochoa, and Natalie Morales; siblings, Cindy Gerich, Jack Seaman, Robert Seaman, Edward Seaman and Steve Odell.

Her Military career began Feb 1980, taking her first to Naples, Italy. Sue served as a medical Corman raking as an HN3 and loved the adventure the Navy offered. She was discharged as an E5 in February 1988 from the Naval Hospital in Bremerton Washington. 

After serving the military, Sue met her husband in 1991 at a Star Trek fan Club. Only one year after meeting they happily married. In 1996 Sue, Mark and Bear moved back to Sues hometown Loveland, Colorado to be closer to her mom. Here is where they completed their home together and adopted Justin and Amanda in 1998. 

In her professional life Sue enjoyed helping others. She was a CNA working with autistic children in Washington for five years. When her and Mark moved to Colorado, she worked with both disabled adults and children for another six years. Sue also had the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom to her children and her fur babies. 

The Memorial service will be held on March 3rd at 11am at the Viegut Funeral Home to anyone that would like to pay their respects.

Sue will be laid to Rest on March 6th at Fort Logan National Cemetery with Military Honors at 11:15am. If your interested in attending please let us know so we can get you access to the grave site.
