Carroll McKinney

Obituary of Carroll Eugene McKinney

Colorado native, Carroll Eugene McKinney of Loveland was called home to Jesus on January 19, 2023 at the age of 88.

Carroll was born on August 21st, 1934 in Craig, Colorado. He grew up working on a ranch in Emma, Colorado and went to school in Aspen. Carroll served in the Korean War and later moved to Colorado Springs where he met Doris and they were married in 1959. He went on to be a machinist at Aircraft Mechanics and later Hewlett-Packard in Colorado Springs. Carroll was a life-long tinkerer and loved to work with his hands.

Carroll and Doris raised their three sons in Colorado Springs and later Woodland Park for more room to play outdoors. He loved snowmobiling, motorcycles, cars, hunting, and skiing with his family. Carroll was an outdoorsman by definition and loved most outdoor activities, except boating because he couldn’t swim. :)

Carroll and Doris enjoyed traveling and their trips included driving the Alaska Highway to visit Ron, trips to Seattle to visit Jerry’s family, trips to Pennsylvania to visit Micah and Jeremy and Aaliyah, vacationing in Branson, Missouri and also camping in Colorado.

They retired and moved to Loveland, Colorado in 1993.

They consider Bent Tree Church their church family and have enjoyed all the friends they have made there.

Carroll was preceded in death by his father and mother, Willard and Blanche McKinney and his brother Clarence McKinney.

He is survived by his wife, Doris McKinney, sons Bill, Ron, and Jerry McKinney; his grandchildren Micah, Jeremy, Tyler, Courtney, Lanae, Samantha, and Kimberly McKinney and great granddaughter Aaliyah McKinney.
