Obituary of Kevin Dean Monson

Kevin Dean Monson Sr., 67, of Loveland, CO passed away on December 8, 2022.  Services will be held on January 21, 2023, at Viegut Funeral Home Chapel, 1616 N. Lincoln Ave, Loveland, CO with a luncheon reception following at Comfort Suites 4851 Thompson Parkway, Johnstown, CO.  Please feel free to wear Denver Bronco or your favorite sports team apparel and jeans.

Kevin was born in Blackfoot, ID on October 31, 1955, to Betty King and H. Dean Monson.  Kevin attended Rawlins High School.  Kevin worked for several years for Wyoming Diesel repairing radiators. 

Kevin leaves behind, a daughter, Mindy (Rick) Greene; son, Kevin Monson Jr.; four grandsons, Kevin Monson III, Kyle Monson, Canyon Greene, and Gavin Greene; sisters, Traci (Richard) Robertson and Konni Thibodeau; brother, Gary Monson; step sister, Shelly (Dave) Hardy; step brother, Marvin Ike Brown Jr; and numerous other family members and friends.

Kevin is known for his fanatical love of the Denver Broncos and his dislike for the Las Vegas Raiders.  He loved watching all sports.  His love and passion for music of all genres was a huge part of his life.  His love for music helped times in his life that were difficult, sad, or happy.  The love he had for music was taught and passed down to his children and continues to be a traditional family passion.  Kevin loved his family and was most proud of his four grandsons.  Kevin was very close to his siblings and was very proud to be a Monson.  Kevin also had lots of cousins and often told fond stories of his mischievous youth with them.  Kevin was a very funny, kind, stubborn, and generous person who would help anyone in need.

Kevin is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Monson; son, Jason Monson; mother, Betty Jessop; father, H. Dean Monson; step father, Don Jessop; step mother, Sharon Monson; brother, Michael Monson; step brother, Chris Pepergias; mother-in-law, Treasa Clingman.

Kevin will be laid to rest with his wife, Shirley in Rawlins, WY and per his wishes, will have some of his ashes scattered on Empower Field at Mile High.

Memorial service will be held Saturday January 21, 2023 at 11:00am at Viegut Funeral Home.
