Bonnie Cooper

Obituary of Bonnie Sue Cooper

Bonnie Sue (Wagner) Cooper, 70, was born on April 24, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri and entered into glory on November 27, 2022 in Johnstown, Colorado where she resided. Bonnie’s life was a witness to Christ and His love and work in this world.

Bonnie spent her life teaching, leading, and sharing God’s grace and truth with all she encountered. Bonnie studied Spanish and used her calling as a Spanish teacher to not only teach Spanish to students in Missouri, but also to teach English to students in Guatemala. She definitely was a great teacher, but she made a bigger impact caring for her students and their families by listening to them and modeling for them a life of faith.

Bonnie served her Lord and Savior, Jesus, in all she did. She helped with summer camps, led Bible Studies, and had an adventurous spirit. Bonnie loved to travel and take in God’s creation. In all Bonnie traveled to over 30 countries. She also loved her horses and spending time in the great outdoors whenever possible. Bonnie’s smile, her ability to make everyone feel welcomed and her love of life helped draw people in. She was kind and gracious and the impact she had all over the world is remarkable. Over the last 15 years she loved living in Colorado, serving at Windsor Community Church, and adventuring with her beloved Gary. Her hospitality and warmth will be missed by many.

Bonnie is survived by her loving husband, Gary; sisters Yvonne Daume and Lois Schachner and brother Ron (Linda) Wagner; beloved nieces and nephews: Paul Daume, Matthew (Candy) Daume, Michael (Ciara) Daume, Doug Wagner, Kelly Lye (Anthony), Adam Schachner (Molly), Angie Schachner Stratton (Jay), Ashley Schachner Herx (Dylan), Amy Schachner Benoist (Jordan); Step-son, Keith (Carol) Cooper, grandson, Will; numerous great nieces and nephews, and a host of friends who have become family from all over the world. Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents Lincoln Lammers Wagner and Dorothy Bledsoe Wagner, her brothers-in-law Ron Schachner and Stoy Daume, and great-nephew Micah Herx.
