Catherine Minter

Obituary of Catherine Irene Minter

Catherine Irene Minter "Cathy"- dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and neighbor, was called home on December 11, 2022 at age 66 years young in Loveland, Colorado.

Cathy was born to Pete "Poppy" and Norma Thompson on April 29, 1956 in Burlington, Colorado at Kit Carson Memorial Hospital.

She had three siblings, Christine Thompson, Kerry Thompson, and Mark Thompson. All whom she loved dearly and who contributed in the making of her sarcastic and genuine personality.

She graduated from Burlington High School in 1974, and began her career with the United States Postal Service at age 17.

Amidst her 38-year Postal career, she made her way up the corporate ladder, and acquired many titles. She would later, happily retire in 2009 at age 53.

Cathy had two amazingly beautiful, and strikingly intelligent daughters; Amanda Kay Kalata (husband, Michael Kalata) and Meghan Jean Robison (husband, Troy Robison- son, Chase Robison- daughter, Faith Robison.)

Sarcastic family rumor has it, she had an "imaginary" daughter, Christina Balulu, born 1973. Although we have yet to confirm or believe this rumor, we are convinced she was her favorite child.

She has three nephews, Wally Thompson (wife, Mikala Thompson- son, Beckett- daughter, Mareck) Adam Thompson (wife, Courtney Thompson- son, Nolan) and Jake Thompson.

And one niece, Jessie Thompson.

Cathy's daughters, Amanda and Meghan, created what would later become her greatest treasures in life, her grandchildren- Makenna Rae, Logan Matthew, Taylor Brenn, Brennan Laine, and Sheridan Rylee, all of Loveland, CO. Cathy was the very best grandmother and dedicated much of her time to all of them. She created an unbreakable bond, individually. She has forever engraved valuable memories and traditions in each of their lives, and in their hearts.

In 2015, Cathy rescued her dog, Kizzy from a local animal shelter. Cathy and Kizzy grew inseparable and quickly became best friends.

Not only did she love her dog, but she was also very passionate about animal shelters and rescues all over the world.

She was well known in the Loveland community. She was a friend and neighbor to all. Cathy loved her long walks, reading for hours, her Denver Broncos, and spending time with her family. If you needed a place to stay, someone to talk to, or just somewhere to hide away, she would effortlessly open her door. If you knew Cathy, you were her forever friend.

Today she is looking over her family, while enjoying a cup of coffee and catching up with those that left before her; her mother and father, Pete Thompson and Norma Thompson. Her brother, Kerry Thompson, and her sister in-laws, Dorothy "Dot" Thompson and Pam Reschke. The stories they must be telling!

We will be holding a traditional service for Cathy on January 6, 2023 at 2pm at Viegut Funeral Home

1616 N Lincoln Ave,

Loveland, CO 80538

And will later have a small, family Celebration of Life in the Spring,

in a place she loved most.

Flowers sent to Viegut Funeral Home would be greatly appreciated date of service. Bright, colorful flowers always put a smile on her face. Her favorite color was yellow.

Heaven gained an angel, and a big piece of our heart. Because, to the world you were a mother and a grandmother, but to us- you were the world!
