Margaret Noll

Obituary of Margaret Sue Noll

We are sad to announce that our incredible, fierce and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife, sister, business leader and adventurer,  Margaret (Peggy) Noll, has passed away after an unexpected illness. She was 75. Peggy was an amazing woman who transcended hardship to create a better life for herself and her children. She wasn’t afraid to pass and spent the last weeks of her life trying to help the people she loved be as brave as she was. She died as she lived, on her own terms. Peggy’s zest and passion for life, her husband, children and many grandchildren, not to mention her joy of making everything she touched better, were unparalleled and inspires us to live our lives to the fullest.

Our mother came to travel and adventure later in life after raising her children and retiring from co-running a successful business. Peggy never did anything halfway, and so when she fell in love with hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, she bought a summer home in nearby Estes Park, Colorado and spent most summer days hiking on its nearby trails with John Denver singing gently into her ears.

When she took off for the great hike in the sky, she left behind her beloved husband Bill and their blended family of six children: Michelle Sundermann (husband Dale, sons Michael (wife Hannah), Justin, Tayler, Rylee (wife Tessa) and grandchildren Eloise and Sophia), Heather Wolfsmith (husband Shane, children Asher and Tatum), Michael Noll (wife Jill, daughters Mia and Ella), Eric Noll (wife Annemarie, sons Preston and Lucas), Diedre Mick (husband Todd, children Justin and Heidi) and Mary Noll. She is also survived by her sisters Alberta, Judy, Catherine, Paula and brother Mark. She was preceded in death by her brother David, sister Jeanne and parents Mary Esther and Elmo.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to honor Peggy’s request to send donations to The Water’s Edge Church in Gretna, Nebraska.  Our mother was an extremely generous person who spent her life giving to the people and the causes important to her. Her church has several causes that help children and there would be no better honor for her.
