Brad and family,
My sincere condolences to you all. I had the great pleasure of knowing your dad during my time at State Farm. I met him my first day of employment at the regional office in Greeley. He was introduced to me at a lunch meeting, upon hearing his last name I asked him if he was related to you. He had that fatherly gleam in his eyes and proudly said, "Yes you could say I'm related to him, ...... he is my son." The way he answered, stuck with me for over thirty-five years, and I guess always will! Perhaps, because I was soon to become a father of my first son in less than two months, and my relationship with my own father was greatly strained at the time. Ed was so pleased to be a father. He continued to impress me very much. He had that unique balance of intelligence, confidence, kindness, and dry humor. His obituary stated he had a steady, deep faith in God. I'm not surprised. As I see it, he lived his faith exceedingly well.
I got to see his home and the beautiful horses he raised. I didn't see him after he retired. But often think of him.
As you all grieve the loss of your father, please reflect upon how Ed positively influenced others throughout his life. I know he did me. God bless you all.
