Obituary of Lonnie Dean Salyer

Lonnie went home to be with the Lord on October 18th 2022 with his family by his side. Born in Ft. Morgan Colorado to Foy (Ernie) and Colleen Salyer on February 4th 1955. The oldest of four siblings.

Lonnie graduated from Loveland High School in 1973 went to College in Arizona and decided that was not for him. Worked for Kodak/Carestream of Windsor for 47 years and retired in 2020. He worked for Sylvandale Guest ranch of Loveland for 27 plus years. His kindness, his laugh and his gentle smile will be missed greatly at Sylvandale Guest Ranch.

Lonnie was passionate about horses, and owned several horses throughout his lifetime. He was a horseshoer and team roper. He loved to worship God through his music, and was a worship leader at God’s Country Cowboy church. He was in three Gospel bands as lead guitarist and singer over the past forty plus years. Lonnie was a very active outdoors person hunting, fishing, skiing and played basketball and baseball since a young boy.

Lonnie’s loving heart and gentle spirit left a beacon of light for all that he came in contact with. Lonnie leaves behind an incredible legacy of ministry through his songwriting and his music. He touched the hearts of many People.

He is survived by his wife Judy of 30 years. He was a proud dad to three children: daughter Jessica (Jessy Ren) son Joshua (Joshi) Stepdaughter, Rachel (Rach). Nine grandchildren; Tayler, Jasmine, Hunter, Jet, Emily, Rinna, Avah, Alex and Faith. Sister Stephanie and family of Boise ID, brother Mike and family of McCall ID, and brother Darvin of southern Colorado.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022 at God's Country Cowboy Church located at 5505 W Eisenhower Blvd, Loveland, CO 80538 at 11:00am.
