Obituary of Deane Richard Steine

Deane Richard Steine

Went home to the Lord Sunday November 6, 2022 with his family by his side. Born in Decorah Iowa to George and Alma Steine on December 7, 1934. 

Interested in all things mechanical he began working at Hausladen Auto Parts at age 15. Deane graduated from Decorah high school and his interest in cars continued with the addition of many including a 1934 Ford Cabriolet that he built with his sweetheart Charmie Welper. Once the car was finished Deane and Charmie married in 1954. Deane was a auto mechanic for many years at many different dealerships in Iowa and southern Minnesota. Blessed with four children they moved to Loveland, Colorado in 1968 where Deane began working at Nick Davidson Chevrolet. He later worked as a machine maintenance mechanic for Eastman Kodak in Windsor Colorado and finally retiring from Hewlett-Packard in Loveland. His love for cars and hot rods lasted his entire life and included being members of the ColoRODans of Longmont and a founding member of the Road Knights car club of Loveland. Deane and Charmie crisscrossed the country traveling to different car events often times winning trophies with their 1936 Ford coupe or 1937 Dodge convertible street rods. Deane is survived by his four children; Cindy Taylor of Newcastle, WA, Danette Marsh (Gary) of Pearland, TX, Dana Steine, Atlanta, GA and Corey Steine (Debbie) of Loveland. Seven grandchildren; Nathan Phillips (Kayla) of Nampa, ID, Elyse Tompkins(Nick) of Covington, WA. Sara Marsh of Woodland Hills, CA, Alyssa Clapp (Taylor) of Timnath, CO, Alec Steine (Jaycie) of Loveland, CO.

Arabella Steine of Atlanta, GA and Dylan Steine, Atlanta, GA.

Five great-grandchildren; McKenna, Madison, Bruce, Mac, Cash, and Radford.

Sister Georgiann Schuster of Cedar Rapids, IA and many nieces and nephews.

Deane is preceded in death by his parents, Charmie, his wife of 63 years and brother Ken.

Deane was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where services will be held on Saturday November 12th at 2 pm. Viewing will be held Friday November 11th from 4-7pm at Viegut Funeral Home and 1 hour prior at the Church.

Memorial contributions made be made to Zion Lutheran church and Pathways Hospice.
