Obituary of Joseph Alexander Morel

Joseph Alexander Morel, age 35, of Loveland, Colorado passed away suddenly on Monday, October 24, 2022. Alex was born Decmber 22, 1986 to Debra and Joseph Morel in Benicia, California.

Alex is survived by his wife of nearly four years, Sarah Brenberg Morel, his parents, Joe and Debbie Morel of Ft. Collins, sister Lyndsey Morel of Denver, parent-in-law John and Brenda Brenberg of Eagan, MN, sisters-in-law Kari Brenberg (Karly Kauf), Laura Brenberg (Sean Judy) and brother-in-law Christopher Brenberg.

Alex is also survived by his two nephews, Felix and Eddie, many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his favorite canine, Leeloo.

Alex lived life to the fullest; finding and spreading joy to others no matter how mundane the moment. His parents planted many seeds to prepare him, including a strong work ethic and how to get things done by including others. He loved the adventure of the outdoors and traveling to exotic locales especially when he could share it with Sarah and his close family and friends. He pushed himself, and all who knew him, to explore creativity. Whether he was working with you on a project, or engaging in a night-long, hair-brained conversation, his enthusiasm was contagious. He had an insatiable appetite and could pack away more food than most people could imagine possible. He loved fancy food, street food, free food, avocado food, but especially, and most frequently, really good homemade food. Alex lived many lives  in his short 35 years. In each iteration he was some blend of daredevil and caregiver. He was a lifeguard, a forest firefighter, a leader, a camper, a soccer enthusiast, a craftsman, a beloved son, a brother and a very best friend, always. 

Those of us who knew him best agree that his joy-filled life reached its peak when he met, fell in love with and married Sarah. He adored her beyond words. He loved his family and loved where his short but full life had led him. 

A memorial service for Alex will be planned for Spring 2023.
