Obituary of Estelle Frances Barbee

Estelle Barbee (83) passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022 in the company of her loving family.

She was born in Denver, Colorado to Harry "Steve", and Lillian "Babe" Barish (Profit) in 1938, the oldest of five children. She graduated from Denver's West High School where she met her future husband, Earl "Doug" Barbee. Upon graduation, she went to work for the Public Service Company in Denver before starting a family in 1962 when the first of her two children, Earl Barbee Jr was born. Shortly thereafter, Estelle, Doug and Earl moved to Evergreen, Colorado and then to Idaho Springs, Colorado. In 1964, their second child Greg Barbee was born. Estelle was very active in comunity events in Idaho Springs, and retired after a 30+ year career with the Clear Creek-Gilpin Abstract and Title Company, and she and Doug moved to Loveland, Colorado in 1999.

Estelle's kind heart and caring approach touched almost everyone she came in contact with. When Earl and Greg were young all of their friends knew they were welcome at the Barbee house. A few of those young people called the Barbee house home for a short period of time. Everyone was welcome, and cared for. Estelle often received Mother's Day cards from people who valued her contribution to their lives. She loved children and often talked fondly of the memories she had of the time she spent with friends from Idaho Springs; family in New Mexico; and, the familes in her neighborhood in Loveland.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. 

Estelle was preceeded in death by her parents, and is survived by her husband Doug, sons Earl (Melissa) and Greg (Julianna), her sister Sandra Wehrle and brothers Gary (Jeanne) and Dale (Linda).

Memorial Service

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 13^th at 1:00pm at Valley Christian Church. 697 Denver Avenue in Loveland, Colorado. Pastor Lane Hardy presiding.
