Obituary of Jo Ann Hesson

Jo Hesson, also affectionately known as Sparky, died on September 18, 2022, at the age of 85 in Loveland, Colorado, surrounded by her husband and children.  She is survived by her husband Paul, her son Matthew Hesson-McInnis, her son-in-law Grant Haab, her daughter, Jennifer Marcinkiewicz, her grandchildren, Katie and John Marcinkiewicz, and her niece and nephews.  She is also survived by her chosen family Pam Robinson and Amanda Webster, and many others that she welcomed as family.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and Willis, her sister, Billie, her sister- and brothers-in-law, and her son-in-law Robert.  She had two careers, the first as a registered nurse, and the second in special education. She had a great love of nature, spending much time out of doors, hiking in the Rocky Mountains, cross country skiing, canoeing, and camping.  She was an avid reader and loved to play Sequence with her friends and family.  She served many years as a Girl Scout Leader, was active in PFLAG with her husband, and served as a passionate advocate for the needs of others.  Donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation (www.arthritis.org) or the Trevor Project (www.thetrevorproject.org).  A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
