Obituary of Melissa Ann Riehl

Melissa Ann Riehl was taken to the Lord July 19th. She was in a tragic accident. Melissa was born in Broken Bow, Neb on February 18, 1975. Her parents, Jim and Debra Chapin raised her in Merna, Neb. She was active and accomplished in all sports, especially track and field. After High School she moved to Kearney, Neb and attended UNK. Later she moved to Denver, Co to pursue a career in occupational therapy.  Melissa graduated with an Associate Degree in occupational therapy.  While living in Denver she met her husband to be -Jason Riehl from Loveland, Co. They were married April 1st, 2000.  They lived in Loveland and had three kids. Twins Trenten and Jarrett and daughter Aleeya. Melissa started her career with Life Care Center of Longmont along with Bonnell Good Samaritan in Greeley. She later moved over to Loveland Good Samaritan as the therapy director for Infinity Therapy and was later promoted Assisted Living Director of Good Samaritan of Loveland.

 

Melissa’s greatest passion was being with family. Her gifts included helping others and cooking for family and friends. She enjoyed paddle boarding, camping, traveling here and abroad.

Melissa was a die-hard Charlie Blackmon fan, and avid Rockies fan. She loved all her dogs.

 

Melissa loved her Lord, and participated in Bible studies and teaching Sunday School, also reading scripture during services. She touched so many lives in her special, loving way.

 

Melissa was preceded in death by grandparents, aunts and uncles, and good friend Timmy. She is survived by her parents, brothers Andrew and Blake, her husband Jason, sons Trenten and Jarrett, daughter Aleeya, mother-in-law Colette Riehl, 8 brothers and sisters in-law, aunts and uncles, and many loved nieces and nephews.

 

Service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Loveland on Tuesday July 26th at 10:30 am.
