Obituary of Virginia Eileen Burnett

Virginia Eileen Burnett passed away on July 2, 2022, at home in Loveland, Colorado surrounded by her family. Eileen was born August 29, 1927, to William R. Mead and Mae Barnes Mead in Kiowa County, Kansas. She grew up on her parent's farm, attended local schools and graduated from Mullinville High School in 1945.

She married Karl D. Burnett on January 23, 1946, while he was home on furlough from the Army Air Corps following World War II.

Eileen had a varied work history, which included banking, a law office and a civil service position in the housing office at Eglin Field, Florida with her husband, Karl. They moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1958 and she worked as a property and casualty insurance agent for many years until moving to Loveland, Colorado in 1978. She worked at On Call Temporary Services as their bookkeeper and payroll clerk until retirement in 1990.

She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, gardening, reading, playing the organ and RVing throughtout the lower 48 states with her husband Karl.

Eileen was preceded in death by her husband Karl, on January 6, 2009. 

Eileen is survived by her daughters, Karla D. Higgins and her husband Steve, Stacia K. Morley and her husband David, the grandchildren, Nicholas K. Wagstrom and his wife Nikki, Harry T. Higgs lll, Darcy Moreno and her husband Anthony as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation has been conducted and a memeorial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution  can be made to her favorite charities, Community Kitchen of Loveland, House of Neighborly Services Loveland and Habitat for Humanity Loveland.
