Obituary of Lee Ardess Payne

Lee Payne was born on November 11th, 1932 in Saint Petersburgh, FL to Joseph Ronney and Dorothy (Pellerin) Ronney.  She lived in various places throughout the United States, settling in Aurora, CO in 1986, where she passed from this world peacefully, in her sleep, on June 28th, 2022.  Lee graduated from Chiefland (FL) High School and went on to become a manufacturer’s rep for women’s clothing.  
She loved traveling to see family, sightseeing, and getting outdoors whenever she was able.  She married the love of her life, Eugene (Gene) Payne in 1984 and cherished every moment she spent with him until his passing.  

Lee is survived by her children, Bonnie Reddick (Victor) of Wenatchee, WA; Kay Humphrey of Downingtown, PA, and Alex Sheppard (Cheryl) of Loveland, CO; sister, Ann Tummond (Dick) of Chiefland, FL; grandchildren Ross Reddick (Logan) of Newberg, OR; Sarah Eastman (Seth) of Henderson, NV; Kelly Fell (Chad) of Downingtown, PA; Chris Umphres (Terri) of Great Bend, KS; and Mike Umphres; great-grandchildren Wade, Landon and Emmett Eastman; Tristan and Levi Fell; and Carson and Callie Umphres; cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  Services will be announced to family and friends when plans and preparations are finalized. 

We thank the Lord Jesus for Lee’s life, love, and everything she was.  There is an emptiness to the world without Lee in it but we hold on to the word of God, which tells us, “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.’” – John 11:25 NIV
