Kimberly Martinez

Obituary of Kimberly Ann Martinez

Kimberly “Kim” Ann Valla-Martinez’s love of life didn’t come to an end with her death. Kim passed away on June 8, 2022, at the age of 54 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by spreading joy to others and living life to the fullest.

Kim was born on November 15, 1967, to Frank R. Valla Jr. and Ethel Mae Valla in Columbus, Nebraska. After Kim graduated from Lodgepole Public High School in 1986, she continued to reside in Nebraska and be active in her community.

Kim had many pleasures in life. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, discovering new music, and helping others. However, her greatest joy in life was motherhood. Her daughter Frankie was the delight of her life, and her love for her collective children brought out the happy spirit that defined her. Kim had a special gift of not only seeing the good in people, but also bringing out the best in them as well.

Kim’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understand that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her smile, presence, and personality brought so much joy to those who encountered it.

Kim was predeceased by: Howard, her husband, her parents, Frank and Ethel Valla. She is survived by a loving family: Her daughter, Frankie, her stepdaughters Christina, Dezerae, and Maygon, her siblings, Lisa, Bryan, and Michelle, several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren, and her significant other Bill.

Services will be held on June 28, 2022 at 11am at the Lodgepole Community Hall.
