Obituary of Clifford Andrew Closson
Cliff Andrew Closson, 87, was born on November 7, 1934 in O’Neill, Nebraska to Earl and Dorothy (Wyman) Closson. He attended O’Neill High School. In 1953 he joined the army and served 3 years in Korea.
In 1964 he married Janice Faye Brunmeier in Boulder, Colorado. They celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on June 13th, 2022.
Cliff worked for the Department of Energy for 28 years as a lineman, electrician, maintenance specialist and training coordinator. He received the Exceptional Achievement Award that was only given to 2% of employees.
They raised 2 sons; Bradley and David. Cliff enjoyed coaching them in football and basketball. Cliff and Jan have 5 grandchildren - Cannon, Paige, Mina Closson, Emily and Melissa Frare.
The family enjoyed Colorado State University sports, fishing, snowmobiling, golf and holidays together. Cliff also enjoyed playing cards with friends and neighbors.
Cliff and Jan have been members of the Lutheran Church for 58 years.
Cliff is proceeded in death by his parents Earl and Dorothy, brother Raymond, sister Eula Finley, brother-in-laws Joe Goldian and Jim Fletcher.
Cliff is survived by his wife Jan, sons Brad (Barbara), David (Kim), grandchildren - Cannon, Paige, Mina Closson, Emily and Melissa Frare. Sister-in laws Carol (Frank) Brewer, Linda Fletcher, Susan Goldian and Rachael Closson.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mount Olive Lutheran Church or charity of your choice.
