Obituary of Clara Elvera Meyer

Clara Elvera Meyer was born in Greeley, CO September 21, 1933 to Chester H. Stevens and Agnes Marian Anderson Stevens. She passed away at Mirasol Living facility on June 12, 2022. She was the oldest of 4 siblings. She grew up in Greeley area most of her life. She attended the Piller of Fire Church growing up. Clara met the love of her life when she was 17 and married Ben D Meyer in August of 1951. They lived in Denver, CO where she managed a large mobile home park. Then moved to Loveland, CO in the early 1960’s. While living in Loveland, she raised her kids, farmed with her husband, she worked for home Elder care where she loved all the elderly people that she was lucky enough to take care of. She was a member of a Doll Club called Sweetheart Dollars where she made many good friends. Clara and her husband ran an Auction house here in Loveland, where she made even more friends. After retirement, she loved going to garage sales, flea markets and shopping at K-Mart. She was an avid reader and loved doing needlework projects. She loved pretty flowers and enjoyed seeing the birds and wildlife around her home. Most important to her was her family. She was always interested in the lives of her children, grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was a strong and independent lady.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ben Meyer, her siblings Larry Stevens of Greeley, John Stevens of  Utah and Marilyn White of Berthoud. She is survived by her son Donald Meyer and wife Lana of Arizona, daughter Marian Quakenbush and husband Gary, grandsons Travis and Nate Meyer of Colorado, Dan Quakenbush and wife Katy of Idaho, Paul Quakenbush and wife Maren of Arkansas and great grandsons Caden Meyer of Arizona, Beckett Quakenbush of Idaho and great grand daughter Zoey Quakenbush of Idaho.
