Obituary of Teresa Jerri Rhoads

            Teresa J. Rhoads was born in Gadsden, Alabama on September 2, 1955. She passed into the arms of Jesus on Friday, May 27, 2022 at her home in Loveland after a short illness.  Teresa was the daughter of Jerry Lee Turner and Sally Jo Willingham-Turner. She spent her first seven years in Gadsden and then moved to Titusville, Florida where she graduated from Titusville HS.

            Teresa loved the ocean, and especially sailing on her own 18’ (Lil Heaven).  She came to know the Lord early in life and treasured her relationship with him.  She moved to the Loveland area with her husband, David, in 2005 and enjoyed treating many guests to her warm southern hospitality and cuisine.  Teresa attended Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida and received her bachelor degree in 1980. She recently completed her master’s degree in Christian counseling at Trinity College of the Bible and Theological Seminary in Evansville, Indiana.  She was employed by CCMSI, Inc. as a claims adjuster for 7 years; she spent a career of 38 years in the insurance claims industry.   Teresa enjoyed motorcycling with David and shared membership and ministry in the Christian Motorcyclists Association, Loveland chapter.  She also enjoyed reading, cooking, and learning. She was a member of the Colorado Claims Association and before that, served as president of the Brevard County Claims Association. She was also a very active volunteer with The Special Olympics of Florida.

            Teresa is survived by her husband David A. Rhoads, step-children Jeremy Rhoads (Katie), Ginger Rhoads-Brendle (Eric), Heather Rhoads-Bowyer (Tucker), and Amy Rhoads. She is also survived by mother - Sally Jo Turner, brother – Terry Joe Turner, and Shadow, her faithful dog.  She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Lee Turner, grandparents - James L. and Kathleen Turner, and John Thomas and Chester (Chad) Willingham.

            There will be a celebration of Teresa’s life on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Foundations Church, 1159 Main Street, Windsor, CO 80550. A reception will follow the service at the church. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to Bristol Hospice care of Viegut Funeral Home, 1616 N Lincoln Ave, Loveland, CO 80538.

            If she were still with us, Teresa would share her favorite quote from Bob Goff, “Love everybody always”.
