Armando Ybarra

Obituary of Armando Ybarra

Armando Ybarra passed away on May 10, 2022, at home peacefully, surrounded by his wife and children. Armando was born February 03, 1957, in Uvalde, Texas, a middle child of Amelia Ybarra.

In 1975 he had his first son Armando Ybarra Jr. follow by another son named Jason in 1976. At age of 26 he moved to Colorado where he met his future wife. On November 12, 1983 Armando married Gloria Alvarez in Loveland, Colorado.  They were happily married for more than 38 years. They had 4 children, Jose, Cristopher, David, & Amanda. Armando worked for Soderberg Masonry in Fort Collins, Colorado. He worked for Soderberg for 30 years as a mason mastering all forms of stone, brick, and block. Armando loved Jesus, his family, his craft, golfing, boxing, riding his motorcycle, and the Dallas Cowboys. All things that his children share and enjoy in some form or another.

Armando was a kind-hearted man who was respected by everyone he knew. Service was his love language, and he would bend over backwards for the people in his life, especially for his wife Gloria and his mother Amelia. When his wife was having surgery, he performed a miracle by building a fully functioning bathroom in 1 week so she wouldn’t have to walk up the stairs during her recovery. During his annual visit to Texas, he would put in an effort to do some type of house project to show how much he loved his mother Amelia. His love knew no bounds.

Always willing to impart wisdom and guidance; he was a friend and mentor willing to listen to your joys and worries.

As provider for his family, you could always find him working on a new project to improve the home he and his wife built. Armando was a fierce competitor in boxing, friendly competitor in golfing, and undisputed in horseshoes.

His kids will attest that he was a devoted father a person. He would forgo working longer hours if it meant not missing his kid’s baseball games and providing a helping hand by coaching during practices. He loved spending time with his grandkids, and his wish was that he could’ve been around longer to see them grow up.

Armando is survived by his wife Gloria, Mother: Amelia; sons Armando Jr., Jason, Jose, Cristopher, and David and daughter Amanda; grandsons Jason jr., Joseph, Andrew, Cristopher Jr, Ryder, Isaiah; granddaughters Leah, Desiree, Angel, Mya, Avaya, & Olive; brothers Ramon, & Frank; sisters Alicia, Janie, Sylvia, & Mamie.
