Obituary of Cheryl Cheree Gayman

Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Cheryl Cheree Gayman (Schick) of Fort Collins, Colorado passed away on April 22, 2022, after a short and courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Cheryl was born on March 17, 1956 to Edwin and Leona Schick. Cheryl graduated from Windsor High School in 1974.

Shortly after high school, Cheryl met the love of her life and soulmate, Reid Gayman. They were married on July 11, 1981. They later welcomed Kurtis Reid and then Michelle Cheree. Reid and Cheryl along with their children spent their lives in Fort Collins.

Cheryl was a Homemaker or better known to us as a Domestic Engineer, caring for Kurtis and Michelle. Cheryl was active in their education and loved volunteering all of her time in their schools. Cheryl loved her children and she loved Jesus, her lord and savior. She dedicated a lot of her time with their church, Harmony Presbyterian Church and made sure her children knew the Lord and loved him just like she did.

Cheryl was extremely involved in her children’s sports. After Michelle stopped playing softball and Kurtis was done with baseball, Cheryl stayed active with softball, a sport that she loved. She helped form The Sting, girl’s softball club and was extremely active up until her illness. Cheryl was passionate about the sport and loved being involved and making a difference in the girls’ lives. Through the sport, she has met a lot of incredible people who meant the world to her.

Cheryl was always known for her warm smile, blonde curls and loving heart. She never knew a stranger. She was a ray of sunshine to all she met. She would bend over backwards for anyone. She was truly a blessing to anyone who had ever met her. We are so grateful to have gotten to spend 66 wonderful years with such an amazing, one-of-a kind person.

Cheryl is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Reid of Fort Collins. Son and daughter-in-law, Kurtis and Lindsay Gayman of Denver. Daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Max Odom of Lakewood Ranch, FL. 5 grandchildren who were the light of her life and absolute joys, Averi, Brayden and Tate Odom and Rylee and Leyton Gayman. Mother, Leona Schick of Loveland, CO. Brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Linda Schick of Windsor. Sister, Carol Schick of Highlands Ranch. Brother and sister-in-law, Gale and Gay Lynn Schick of Windsor. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her father, Edwin Schick and brother-in-law, Alex Tallentire.

At the request of the family, please wear green to the service as this was Cheryl’s favorite color.

Cheryl’s service will be Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Crossroads Church 5420 N Taft Ave Loveland, CO at 11:30 am.
