Obituary of Lynn Frances Gordon

Lynn Frances Gordon passed away peacefully at her home in Loveland, Colorado on March 7, 2022 at the age of 78 due to Atherosclerosis throughout her body, her heart was still good, strong and full of love.

Lynn was born on March 13, 1943 in Denver, CO. She was the second of three children to Frances and Lloyd Sublette.  After graduating from Adams City High School in 1961, she began her lifelong career in the Insurance Industry, along with the start of her own family.   Those that know Lynn, know that she was the epitome of grace, strength, integrity and love.  She was a very gentle soul, but if the situation required, she could be a force to be reckoned with.  Family and the many deep and long-lasting friendships with people made over the years were absolutely cherished throughout her life.

Lynn enjoyed many passions throughout her life: gardening, canning, Ballroom and Latin dancing, sewing, photography, knitting, crocheting, making glass beads, beading projects, Minecraft with her grandchildren, reading, playing cards and board games, cooking, road trips, camping and even the occasional trip to look for alien life forms!

In years past, the sewing was almost like a second career, and Lynn absolutely loved the designing and making of the costumes for her son and daughter-in-law to wear for their ballroom dance competitions.  The sewing shifted from dance attire to numerous cat costumes and various other characters costumes for her grandchildren. 

Yes the three grandchildren…the absolute lights of her life.  Upon the birth of her first grandchild, Lynn became an integral part of her son and his family’s lives, which meant traveling since they lived out of state.  Lynn never hesitated to go and was always available to help with the kids, sometimes for weeks or months at a time.  She loved being able to be a part of the family on a daily basis blending into, rather than just being a trip from grandma.  She was even present for the home birth of her youngest grandson.  Once the children were old enough, they would travel to spend time with their grandma at her house. Lynn was always thrilled to have them in her home and share fun new adventures with them each time they visited.

Lynn retired for a short time but was called back in to action to create an insurance program for the Healing Touch community and other Holistic Practitioners at the request of her son and daughter-in-law.  She was very proud of the program that they created together and what it had grown into over the years. 

In 2010 Lynn and her daughter had the opportunity to relocate their residence from Arvada to a beautiful house in the country outside of Loveland.  She was in awe every day of the peacefulness and beauty surrounding her.  Visits from the wildlife were was a welcome reminder to take time, take a few minutes, and just be, just enjoy the beauty.  Of course, she faced the battle of wanting to grow the plants and flowers, and the deer wanting to eat them.  Often times, the frustration turned into a smile of gratitude and appreciation for the ability to witness nature up close. 

Two years ago, Lynn rose to the challenge of striving to improve her health and decided that a plant-based oil free diet would be best.  She was diligent in studying and learning new methods of cooking, always on the lookout for new recipes.  Her strong will served her very well. She impressed many of her doctors, friends and relatives with her unwavering commitment to diet and exercise.  She achieved her goals of attaining a healthy weight and eliminating or at least reducing her medications.

Throughout her life, Lynn was a very kind and gentle person.  Always courteous, polite, nurturing, extremely sharp, curious and eager to learn new things.   Her innate ability to handle difficult situations denotes her inner strength and confidence. She used that gift not only for herself, but also to counsel and be support for many others during their difficult times.

Lynn lived a full and inspiring life. Her legacy will reside in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.

Lynn was preceded in death by her parents and older brother Johnny.  She is survived by her daughter Donna, son Christopher, daughter-in-law Lisa, grandchildren Raymond, Nicole and Louis, her brother Mark Sublette, sister-in-law Jackie Sublette, sister-in-law Bonnie Reed and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

 A Celebration of Life Gathering Open House will be held on Saturday May 21^st, 2022 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at her home in Loveland, Colorado. An announcement with details will also be posted on her Facebook account. All are welcome to attend.
