Laverne Christensen

Laverne Christensen, 88, of Loveland, Colorado, died March 7, 2022, at Poudre Valley Hospital in Ft. Collins.

She was born January 14, 1934, in Marion County, Iowa to David and Ruth Core Stittsworth. She grew up on a farm and attended Buckeye County School and graduated from Knoxville High School in Iowa in 1952. On November 28, 1954, she was united in marriage to Marinus Christensen. She and her husband moved from Des Moines, Iowa to Denver, Colorado in 1957, then moved to Loveland, Colorado in 1959 where they worked and raised their children, Steven Lee and Lori Ann.

Laverne worked at Community National Bank in Knoxville, Iowa; American Mutual Life in Des Moines, Iowa; Great Western Sugar Company, Thompson School District in Loveland, Colorado, retiring from Thompson R2-J School District in 1994. She was a member of Faith Evangelical Church in Loveland. She enjoyed her home, family and friends and was active in her church and volunteer work in the Community Kitchen. She and her husband, Chris, loved being a snowbird in Apache Junction after they retired. She liked to read, sew, travel and work in her yard and garden.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Marinus, daughter Lori Ann and son Steven Lee.
