Obituary of John Hans Wachsmann
John passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born to Martin and Katharina (Motz) Wachsmann in Obereidisch, Romania. Following World War II, Zion Lutheran church sponsored the Wachsmann family as they immigrated to northern Colorado in 1952. Through that church, John would soon meet his future wife of 49 years Maria Patzer, whose family was also sponsored through Zion Lutheran and quickly joined the United States Army, serving during the Korean war.
Following his military service, he worked as an RV Design Engineer and a Realtor. John was active in his community as a member of the Veterans Club, Elks Club, American Legion, Housing Authority Board, and Optimist Club. He was instrumental in bringing youth sports to Loveland, also coaching youth football and baseball for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Maria (Patzer); his parents, and siblings Mary, Kathy, Sue, Adolf, and Martin.
He is survived by his partner Margot Abraham; children; John (Kathy) Wachsmann, Judy (Lloyd) Guerrero, Robert Wachsmann, and Deborah (James) Bray; grandchildren; Ryan (Lindsay) Guerrero, Brittney (Brian) Goetsch, Nathan (KJ) Guerrero, Tiffany Kile, Bradley (Candace) Bray, Jacob (Kaitlyn Noriyuki) Bray, Lesley (Adam) Hartmann, Paige (Matt) Bell, Chad Wachsmann, and Kara Wachsmann; as well as great-grandchildren; Ava Kile, Sofia Guerrero, Sawyer Guerrero, Braxton Goetsch, Zoe Kile, Emmett Bray, Brielle Goetsch, Ezra Bell, and Isaac Hartmann.
Services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Loveland on 03/11/2022 at 10:00am (Viewing at 9:00am). Zoom link @ zionloveland.com/worship. Burial at Loveland Burial Park following service.
