Obituary of Bonnie Cloe Smith

Bonnie Smith, age 93, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2022 in Loveland, Colorado.  

Bonnie was born to Roy and Maple Smith on March 7, 1928 in New Hope, Arkansas.  Bonnie was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother as well as a published Author.  She worked as a Hairdresser and Caregiver for many years and she volunteered with many charitable organizations: Foster Grandparents program at The Boys & Girls Club of Ft. Wayne, as well as with her church.  She loved to garden, bake and entertain to name just a few of her many interests.  Bonnie raised her family for many years in Warren and Ft. Wayne, IN and then lived for several years in Bradenton, FL near her daughter Brenda.  In her last few months she moved to Colorado to be near her youngest daughter Susie.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Veldon Smith, Doris Williams, Betty Sheckler, Arnold Smith, June Kocher;  and daughter Sherry Kline.  

Bonnie’s greatest joy was serving her Lord and Savior.  She is survived by two daughters Brenda Tipton of Sarasota, FL and Carole (Susie) Hopkins of Loveland, CO.  Four grandchildren Kimberly Kirkwood, Ft. Wayne, IN;  Kara West, Ft. Wayne, IN;  Stacy Shade, Atlanta, GA and Christopher Hopkins, Raleigh, NC and great-grandchildren; Lucas Kirkwood, Dylan Kirkwood, Jaxon Kirkwood, Brennen West all of Ft. Wayne, IN.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Ft. Wayne, IN.
