Obituary of Donna Jean Middel

Donna (Schossow) Middel, 66, of Fort Collins passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family on January 29, 2022. Donna was born in 1955 to Rev. Lyle and Gladys Schossow. She was born in Denver and grew up near the Mount Vernon Canyon area, west of Golden.

Donna was a consummate animal lover, and had many horses, dogs, squirrels, birds, and fish through the course of her life. Friends flocked her way as she gifted everyone with love, laughter, and loyalty. If you were blessed to be called “Friend”, she had friendships reaching back to elementary school and continuing to her final breath.

Donna was a woman of deep and abiding faith. She was active in every church she attended. We are confident she is blessing us from heaven.

Donna married Marc Middel in November of 1979, and they were blessed with over 42 years of loving marriage. She was a resident of Fort Collins for over 45 years, and alongside her husband, they built and ran successful businesses for over 35 years.

Donna is survived by her loving husband Marc; son Matthew, and his wife, Emily, and their daughters. Also by her father and stepmother, Lyle and Carole, of Chandler Arizona; her brother, Dale, and sister-in-law, Lindy; and countless nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces.

The memorial service for Donna will be held in Fort Collins on Thursday February 17^th at First Presbyterian Church, located at 531 S. College Ave, Fort Collins CO 80524 at 11:00AM.  Current information and thoughts will be passed along to the family by visiting www.DonnaMiddel.com.
