Obituary of Wanda Jean Pratt

Wanda Pratt, formally of Loveland, passed away peacefully at the Longmont, CO Brookdale facility on Monday, January 3 at the age of 100. Wanda was born September 5, 1921 as an only child to John and Leta Wilding in Mexico, MO. She married John T. Pratt, (Jay), also of Mexico, on February 21, 1942 at the First Christian Church. The couple celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary while residing at the Sugar Valley Estates, Loveland in February 2017. Jay passed away in January 2018. Wanda Pratt attended and graduated from Mexico Public Schools. The family resided in Mexico until their departure 1969. Wanda is survived by two sons, John Wiley (Patsy) of Urbana, Illinois and Alan Marshal (Patty) of Niwot, Colorado. Wanda leaves four grandchildren: Darren Pratt (Kari) of Wilmington, NC, Marcia (Pratt) Hardyman (Ross) of Panama City, FL, Cathi (Pratt) Cox (Brandon) of Martinsville, IN and Michael Pratt of Houston, TX. Jay and Wanda had six grandchildren; Jordan, Blaine, Jade, Parker, Payton and Preston and one great-great grandson, Wyatt. During WWII, Wanda was employed as a bookkeeper at the Mexico Savings Bank. She started her own Interior Design business which operated in Mexico until 1969 when she and her husband moved to Lake Worth, FL and later Palm Beach Gardens, FL. After the retirement of her husband from banking in 1983, they lived and traveled the country in their motor home, visiting all 50 states and most of Canada before purchasing a home and settling in Loveland, CO. Wanda was an active member of several P.E.O. Chapters over the years. This journey began in 1945 as a member of the HD Chapter in Mexico; demitted to Chapter AZ, West Palm Beach, FL; demitted to Chapter FL, Loveland; and later co-founder and President of P.E.O. Chapter IM in Loveland. Jay and Wanda enjoyed full lives, loved camping, the outdoors and nature. They taught their family how to live well and enjoy life simply. They appreciated good laughter, creating fond memories and the bond of many friendships. Following cremation, there will be no visitation or funeral celebrations per Wanda’s desires.
