Obituary of Madeline Washkevich

Madeline "Maddie” Seeler-Washkevich, age 74, of Loveland passed away peacefully on Monday, December 13, 2021. Madeline was born January 15, 1947 in Munich, Germany to John and Elizabeth Seeler. Madeline immigrated to the United States and grew up in southern New Jersey where she graduated from Williamstown High School. She met Stanley while in High School and soon after they were happily married. It was a summer trip of 1977 to Colorado to see family friends that sparked the idea of relocating. In 1978, Stan and Madeline moved from New Jersey to Loveland, Colorado with their son John. In the summer of 1981, she gave birth to Johanna. Madeline held various jobs throughout her time including being a Cub Scout Den Mother, Baseball Team Mom, Elementary School Room Mother, Brownie leader and being a surrogate Mother to all of John and Johanna’s close friends. Her true passion was raising her children and the compassionate spirit she had of helping others. Madeline was a medication aid at The Loveland Good Samaritan Society for years, where she built loving lifelong friendships. She also loved her pets, most recently her dachshund, Lucy and cat, Samantha. Madeline enjoyed planning social events, gardening, crocheting and reading books. Madeline is survived by her son John and Lien Washkevich of San Jose, California and daughter Johanna and Seth Reak of Loveland, Colorado. She is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Washkevich, mother and father Elizabeth and John, her brother Lou Seeler and sister Elizabeth Esposito. Madeline’s caring heart & compelling smile will be dearly missed by all that knew her. Services will be held at Viegut Funeral Home on January 14, 2022, at 1 p.m. Luncheon will follow the service in the reception center. In lieu of flowers or donations, please spend precious time with loved ones this Christmas.
