Obituary of Michael Thomas Davoren

Michael Thomas Davoren, 46, of Loveland, passed away at home November 8th with his loving wife, Brigid at his side. He was born in Elgin, Illinois, the son of Michael Davoren and Patricia Cline Farquhar. Mike was a graduate of Payson High School. After over a decade working as a commercial and residential plumber, Mike spent the latter half of his career employed in the water and wastewater industry. In addition to his hired positions, he was often called on as the resident handyman, as he was a skilled carpenter, welder and fabricator, and there wasn’t a motor or piece equipment he couldn’t fix. Mike loved cruising roads less traveled in the jeep or on his motorcycle. His favorite pastimes included hiking with the dogs, riding ATVs, fishing, camping, snowboarding, and discovering and enjoying the many breweries Colorado has to offer. Aside from spending time outdoors with his wife and friends, Mike was passionate about music – there wasn’t a genre he didn’t like! He was an incredible friend, who was always willing to help anyone who needed a hand. All who knew Mike were inspired by his courage, loyalty, and sense of purpose. He will be greatly missed by those of us lucky enough to have had him in our lives. Mike is survived by his wife Brigid; his father Michael Davoren; mother Patricia Farquhar and step-father David Farquhar; his maternal grandmother Grace Cline; half-sisters Emily Farquhar, Traci Farquhar, Rebecca Leigh Farquhar, and Kimberly Farquhar; father- and mother-in-law Patrick and Patricia McDonnell; sister-in-law Maureen Huffman and husband Jason; brother-in-law Brian McDonnell and wife Brooke; along with nieces, nephews and extended family. Mike received remarkable treatment during his almost 4 year battle with cancer. His family especially thanks Dr. Moore and the UC Health Cancer Center team for the loving care and support they provided Mike and Brigid during his courageous fight. A private family gathering was recently held. A celebration of Mike’s life, to which friends, coworkers, and family are welcome, will be held at a later date. The event details will be shared via social media. The family respectfully suggests memorial donations be made in Mike’s name to UCHealth Northern Colorado Foundation Cancer Center and Oncology Services fund.
